Hey everyone, welcome to 2025! It’s time to look back at our events of late 2024, starting with big news. On Wednesday 6 November, we opened our first shop in Dunedin!
We’ve been working towards opening in the South Island’s second city for some time, and the locals turned out in force!
It was a party atmosphere from well before the giveaway began, with people excited to get their first taste of St Pierres!
New shop manager Nila commented that:
“We have dreamed of this day for so long. Bambang and I have been with St Pierres in Auckland and Christchurch, learning the business and working towards opening a partnership shop. We’re finally in Dunedin, and it’s just been great.
The locals have been so welcoming, and we’ve had many fantastic people apply for work here and just express their support. Thank you to everyone in Dunedin and to the St Pierres family who traveled a long way to help us!”
After not being able to make his traditional speech at the Mānawa Bay shop opening, Director of Marketing Nick was in fine form! You can tell the directors really enjoyed making the trip south.
Inside, the atmosphere was bubbling along just as much. Nick commented that
“We were overwhelmed by the response of the people of Dunedin. For around ten years, Dunedin has been one of the most requested locations for a St Pierres, so such an explosive opening day was really no surprise. We are really thankful for the positive response we received on opening day and since – customers are still flowing through the store.”
The new shop is in Anderson’s Bay, nestled between a busy commercial district and large residential area in south Dunedin. And it’s even close to wild and beautiful beaches – what a great place to live! Hope to see you here soon!
