Hey everyone, welcome to 2026! Before we look ahead to a big year to come, let’s look back at our summer 2025 events season. The first big events were the awards parties, starting with Auckland on Sunday 12 October. Check out the festival atmosphere, amazing costumes and wonderful prize winners!
Awards parties are real highlights of our year, and we love bringing the St. Pierre’s family together. The Auckland party was held at a new venue, the Lobster Palace in Botany, with around 400 staff packing out the venue. Some came from as far away as Whangārei, Tauranga, Rotorua and New Plymouth!
Awards parties are about celebrating all shop staff and recognising our highest performers. A total of 15 awards for a wide range of achievements were awarded, including for part time and full time crew of the year, best service, and best food quality and shop of the year
The evening culminated with the $2,500 travel prize for Speciality Manager of the Year, for bento, seafood and K10 managers, and the $3,500 travel prize for Sushi Manager of the Year!
Both the bento and sushi Manager of the Year being from the same shop was a historic first. Well done team GI!
Remember that some national award winners are based in other regions. Look out for our articles on the Wellington, Christchurch and Hawkes Bay awards parties for the other winners! What makes our parties special is mixing the serious (awards) and not so serious (costumes). Fancy dress is encouraged, and some staff go to great lengths! This year’s theme was “the colour yellow,” with attendees encouraged to rock our iconic corporate colour however they wanted. Our staff are always creative, and this year was no exception – enjoy!
Colour theme fun for staff of all ages!
And there’s more to come! The Wellington awards party was on Monday 13th, Christchurch on Tuesday 14th, and Hawkes Bay on Monday 20th October. We’ll be covering those very soon!

Congratulations to Christian Tanada from Onehunga, who won his choice of one $50 WOOLWORTHS VOUCHER or a DOUBLE PASS MOVIE VOUCHER at Hoyts or Event Cinemas for his answer last time.
We asked why you think the Part Time Star of the Shop, Full Time Star of the Shop and Rising Star awards are important. Christian replied that
These awards are important because they highlight the teamwork that makes our store successful. Whether part time or full time, every person adds value. Recognising Rising Stars shows that growth and effort never go unnoticed. It inspires everyone to work together with pride and to give our best every day.
We love how Christian understands that teamwork and everyone adding value makes our stores succeed. We want all our staff to know their role is valued and recognised, and awards are just one way we do it!
This week we’re giving away the same prize.
