Welcome to 2024! Before we look forward to the year ahead, we thought we’d look back a little more. We’ve had requests for photos of the top 2023 awards winners. They came from all parts of NZ – who do you recognise from your area?
Every year we recognize our achievers at all levels and from many angles, including best part and full timers in each region (Auckland, North Island regions, Wellington, South Island), best food quality, best shop overall, and manager awards such as rising star, best promotor and servant leader. We featured many of them in the Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch articles.
This article showcases the best of the best – five national shop manager awards (and two shop supporter awards).
Top Assistant Specialty Manager
This award recognizes the best bento, seafood or K10 second in charge. Nominations were received from around the country, but the winner was Sophie from Northlink in Christchurch!
Top Assistant Sushi Manager
This award recognizes the best sushi department second in charge anywhere in NZ. The competition was intense, but in the end the winner was Rita from Lincoln Road in west Auckland!
Partnership award
This special award recognises partner managers who have done particularly well in building their team and local business networks, a key part of the partner role. Step up Sooin in New Plymouth, who has made a big difference since moving west a couple of years ago –great stuff! The prize for him – and his team – is an all staff dinner at a venue of their choice. Well done team New Plymouth, you’ve earned it!
Specialty Manager of the Year
This award recognizes the best bento, seafood or K10 department manager. Sushi is our main game, but our other departments are doing really well, and this award helps make sure we recognize how well all our department managers do. Many great managers nominated – particularly from the regions – so perhaps it was fitting that the winner was Hana from Rotorua!
Sushi Manager of the Year
Then we recognise the best department manager for our core product. This year’s manager of the year only became a partner manager recently, when we opened the Ashburton shop. It’s Yoshi – well done!!!
Office Award
While the company’s focus is naturally on the shops, the awards also recognize those who support the front line. This year, Moe from Importing and Grace from HR were inseparable, so they shared the Office Award. Well done!
Top Store Supporter
Finally, our area managers are a critical link between head office and the front line, so it was fitting that this year’s Top Store Supporter was Kazuyo, the South Island area manager. Congratulations Kazuyo-san!
Congratulations again to all the award winners, and here’s to more success for everyone at St. Pierre’s!
