Welcome back! Let’s look at our profit sharing meetings, a really significant part of the company culture.

Profit sharing is very important because it’s unique to St Pierres! We believe in sharing the gains from everyone’s hard work so you can all feel ownership in the shop. We often talk about how St Pierres thrives thanks to our shop crew – profit sharing is one way of showing our gratitude!

So, on top of wages, regular bonuses, and other benefits, profit sharing rewards long-serving staff with a share of shop earnings. It’s a recognition of the effort our loyal staff make over many years. And that effort is worth celebrating, so we don’t acknowledge it quietly – we hold big events to celebrate it all together!

The first 2025 event was in Auckland on Monday 10 November – and what a big show it was! With around 420 staff attending, we need a big venue! Happily, the Guineas Ballroom at Ellerslie Events Centre is very spacious, and even provides big views of the Racecourse to match.

As well as an overview of the company’s results and profit sharing payments, Directors Nick, Perry and Costa ran through the company’s principles and values, focusing on the value of partnership and pride in what we achieve together. We take pride in being a People-First Partnership, and profit sharing is one way we demonstrate that commitment to our people.

As well as looking back on recent achievements, profit sharing meetings also look to future growth. We opened six shops in 2025, and have big plans for 2026. The excited murmur in the audience illustrated how keen staff are to be a part of it! One of the great strengths of St. Pierre’s is the close, two-way communication between shops and head office, and this session was yet another example.

But the highlight of the evenings was handing out profit sharing certificates, when we recognise and show gratitude to our dedicated staff. Beginning with the longest-serving team members, everyone received their certificates in groups by years of service. The warm appreciation from fellow staff is always impressive.

The day after the Auckland meeting, Tuesday 11 November was Wellington’s turn! Our capital team packed out the Oaks Wellington Hotel to catch up with each other and the directors.

Plenty of recognition for younger Wellington staff too!

A busy week concluded in Christchurch on Wednesday 12 November at the Novotel Cathedral Square, where the locals always bring the energy! The Christchurch team has grown in recent years, and took another step this year with the new Yaldhurst shop. Some of the new Yaldhurst staff came to hear about the profit sharing system and what they can expect next year – now that’s commitment!

The directors didn’t have much time to rest though, with the Waikato/Bay of Plenty meeting held on Monday 17 November, the Hawkes Bay meeting on Wednesday 19 November, and the online meeting on Monday 24 November.

The Waikato gathering at Zenders Ruakura covered Tauranga and Rotorua shops as well, with many staff travelling over the Kaimais and Mamakus for the evening. The yummy food and relaxed vibe in the courtyard certainly made the drive worthwhile! The Hawkes Bay meeting was again at the East Pier Hotel in Napier, where the harbour views did not distract from the engaging presentations and team interaction!

Some regional shops, such as Whangārei, lay on a team dinner to attend the online meeting together!

Thank you so much to everyone who attended. We really appreciate how you help make St Pierres a special place to work every day!

And look forward to more big news on this site soon!
